Chega de Saudade - Antonio Carlos Jobim Talking about alluringly charming line, this is classic Jobim. His line "Vai minha tristeza e diz a ela que sem ela nao pode ser..." (A poor translation: "Go my sadness! And tell her that without her I can't do") will melt most girls' hearts like marshmallows in a hot chocolate (Disclaimer: Unless the guy is a real prick).
Somebody Told Me - The Killers The band played this too. I adore it when the singer sings "Well somebody told me you had a boyfriend, who looked like a girlfriend that I had in February of last year" Just so very charmingly insulting.
My Sacrifice - Creed Last night was the second visit to the bar where for the second time I heard this song being played live by the wicked resident band. Sure I've heard the song played on radio every now and then but have never bothered much about it. It was only last night that the lyrics intrigued me. So after googling and youtubing, and singing out loud the full lyrics for the first time, the song is welcomed into the repertoire. Well, the video lacks finesse. But what it lacks in finesse it makes up in its entendre. Call me a sucker but a song which speaks about facing oneself in the mirror and making/finding peace with oneself, never fails to give me the shudder. Like the saying goes, you can lie to the whole world but never ever lie to yourself. Swoon.
